About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Chief Pharmacist to join our small, collaborative hospital team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a close-knit environment, brings a team-player mentality, and maintains a positive, professional attitude. The Chief Pharmacist will oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensure safe and accurate medication management, and support high-quality patient care across the acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all pharmacy operations, including medication verification, dispensing, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead, support, and mentor pharmacy staff while promoting a positive, collaborative work culture
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and medication protocols
  • Partner with providers, nurses, and administrators to support patient needs and workflow efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records, oversee inventory, and ensure proper storage and handling of medications
  • Serve as the on-call pharmacist when needed for clinical or operational support

Requirements

  • Active California Registered Pharmacist license
  • Must have acute care hospital experience (non-negotiable)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work on-site full time and respond to call-ins when needed
  • Professional, team-oriented attitude suited to a small hospital environment
